Lauren Childress
Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and certified Level 1 Brainspotting Practitioner. She has a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling and a master's degree in forensic psychology from Walden University, and ICF trauma informed and narcissistic abuse recovery coaching certifications.
Prior to starting her career in mental health she was in law enforcement for almost 16 years (sworn and civilian). Recognizing the need for culturally competent mental health services for first responders while in law enforcement, Lauren pursued education in mental health and chose to make a complete career change to assist first responders and their families with mental health and well-being.
While Lauren will see adult and adolescent clients for all general mental health concerns, as a former first responder, she is also familiar with first responder culture and the mental health challenges it presents.
My Expertise
Lauren works with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma or has a history of trauma, narcissistic abuse, intimate partner violence, divorce, and family challenges.
Lauren's education, life, and professional experiences inform her therapeutic process with each client. She aims to provide each of her clients with a comfortable and non-judgmental space for self-exploration, assessment, and healing.
